A 232,000 sq.ft., 14-storey facility adjacent to Vancouver General Hospital, the BC Cancer Research Centre is the latest fully integrated, state-of-the-art cancer research centre in Canada. With a construction budget of $88 million, the building was recently recognized for sustainability with a LEED® Gold certification.
Callisto, one of two buildings designed by IBI/HB Architects (formerly Hancock, Brückner, Eng + Wright) located on the Vancouver waterfront in Coal Harbour, was also recognized with a VRCA award:
With a construction value of $46 million, Callisto embodies the ultimate in luxury urban living. Together with its sister building Carina, Callisto has a dramatic sail-like building envelope that billows at the water's edge. With 34 storeys, Callisto is comprised of 166 customized tower units and 16 townhomes.
